Dutch Translation
We at CVMS would like to extend a hearty welcome to our European friends.
There are many myths and superstitions surrounding the American muscle car.
One of our goals is to provide current and accurate information, so these cars can
be enjoyed to their fullest, at minimal expense. It has also come to our attention
there is precious little expertise in the repairs and maintenance, and more importantly,
modifying of these cars. As many of you have already discovered, they are
a different animal than your classic European performance car, and quite capable
performers.
There are many misconceptions surrounding the performance capabilities
and durability of the American muscle car and pony car. One is particular
is the myth that only Chevrolet engines are suited for performance. In reality,
Chevrolet is the most popular, and therefore the one most engine builders are familiar
with. It is not, however, the only durable or powerful GM engine of the muscle
car era. We have developed power packages for the traditional Pontiac
and Oldsmobile V8s. Buick engines also show good performance potential and
durability. In short, you don't need to modify your Olds or Pontiac with a
Chevy engine to make it perform. In some arenas, we have Pontiac engines that
outperform the Chevy, and maintain the originality of the car. By staying
with the original power plant, the chassis geometry of the car is not altered.
At CVMS, we specialize in Pontiacs and Chevrolets, but our experience
is not limited to those makes. We have extensive experience, in both restoration
and racing, in all makes of American muscle cars. We have customers who have
won awards for their Chrysler and Ford products as well, including awards for "Best
Engine". We have provided race engines for all these makes as well, and they
are all very competitive.
We also understand the apprehension one has about doing business
across the ocean, and with a different form of currency. We have experience
with electronic transfer of money, and exchanging Euros to dollars. While
many American companies are hesitant to do business this way, we have found it quite
easy and secure.
Shipping an engine can be a bit intimidating, as they are heavy
and large. This seems like it may be extremely expensive. This is not
the case. We have been using the services of BAX Global, and they have made
this task easy. From shipping a complete engine, to smaller packages of restoration
parts, their service has been flawless.
Our engines have been featured in the British magazine "The American
Muscle Car Scene". We have also imported engines to Holland and have a strong
foundation in Germany. Jim's wife, Rosie, is from the Kaiserslautern area,
and her family is still there. Translation services are readily available.
Personal service is assured.
For our customers in Holland, David DeRegt has volunteered his
services as translator. David was our first Dutch customer, and has done a
lot of business with us. He is a satisfied customer with a desire to spread
the word to his countrymen. And it was David that brought it to our attention,
the need for honorable and competent services in the USA, for our European muscle
car fans.
At CVMS, we will always provide you a specific and accurate estimate
for parts or services. From the smallest trinket for that perfect restoration,
to a 700 horsepower big block Chevy, we promise no surprises. You will always
know what you're buying, and how much it will cost. We will also maintain
our pricing structure, regardless of where you live. You will pay the same
price for a part if you have us ship it, as you would if you walked in to the shop
and bought it on the spot. Of course, the shipping and all import duty will
be the customer's responsibility. CVMS will always adhere to all US
and other import/export laws and regulations.
You're welcome to do your own shopping online, and provide CVMS
with your part numbers and source. We will acquire and ship the part for you,
at a 25% (of the purchase price) fee. We can usually meet or beat the published
prices, so we encourage you to shop.
You are also welcome to e-mail us with any specific questions
you may have about your application, and what may or may not be suited to it. Answers
may take a few days, as translation may be necessary. There is no charge for
this service. We feel, the better educated you are as a customer, the better
we and our products look. We know what we're doing!
Finally, we pledge to provide honorable and timely service.
You will always know exactly where your money is going, and what to expect from
the product. We promise to never lie to you, and never steal from you.
While you may have heard this from others, this is the creed we live by at CVMS.
We are a "Member in Good Standing" with the Better Business Bureau, and have fully
certified ASE Master engine builders. Though these organizations are not fully
present in Europe, they are the the best sanctioning and certifying bodies in our
industry, throughout the world. Holding their accreditations is an important
aspect of an honorable business. We take great pride in this.
We thank you for taking the time to read this. We appreciate
your business, and look forward to a long and happy relationship.
